The Road Warrior

Mike Cox is an IT consultant who spends weeks at a time in other countries. His business can take him from Bermuda to many places in Europe and as far away as China. While traveling, Mike lives in hotels and he used to communicate back to his colleagues, wife Linda and friends either via e-mail using his laptop, or by mobile phone.

He explains, “It is important for me to stay in touch with loved ones while I am away. Likewise, I still have to keep in contact with colleagues in the office in Bermuda. A lot of the time my mobile phone bills are astronomical, and the time and effort it takes to read and type e-mails is laborious."

Having read about VoIP and the cost savings that can be made using a VoIP handset and the appropriate software, Mike purchased two BuzzLitePhones. Then, before he went away on his next trip, he installed software on his laptop, as well as on his home PC.

“It’s great now when I am away, because I can chat all night long to my wife on the BuzzLitePhone. The service that we use lets us talk from my laptop to our home PC at no charge. It does get lonely living in hotels for weeks at a time!” comments Mike.

Now Mike calls his office in Bermuda from the hotel via his laptop, using his BuzzLitePhone. “The call charges using VoIP are significantly reduced. I can stay talking for longer if needs be and discuss crucial business matters. The savings I am making are well over 80% on calls back to Bermuda. It’s great!”

The Family

Mary Patterson lives with her husband and two children in Southampton. They moved to Bermuda three years ago and often miss their family and friends in the UK.

The Student

Rob Matthews recently started his first term at a University in Canada. He has taken his BuzzLitePhone with him so that he can stay in contact with old friends, and of course his parents.

The Expat

Denzil Sebastian was transferred to Bermuda by his company office in St.Kitts. He misses his family there and especially he misses his girlfriend in Basseterre. He heard about VoIP technology and decided to try it to call back home. He downloaded software from the Internet and started by using the speakers and microphone that came with his computer.

After a very short time he realised that he could not cope with the terrible echo and feedback that he was getting and decided to try the BuzzBasic handset.
